C364

This is the LASSP printer/copier/scanner multifunction device. The C364 is usually the best printer to choose if you are anywhere near it. It is by far the least expensive printer. The cost to LASSP for letter size paper is a flat rate of a little more than half a cent per black and white side and about 4.5 cents per color side. By comparison, most laser printers run about 2-10 cents per monochrome side and 10-30 cents per color side based on the costs of consumables and printer maintenance.

The C364 also has 8.5"x14" (legal) and 11"x17" (tabloid/ledger) paper loaded for larger format prints.

You can also use it to scan documents to PDF and have it email the result to you.

And, of course, it is a copier.

As with all LASSP resources, it should be used for LASSP Research only. Materials for classes and teaching, espeically large amounts, should be done with resources from the academic Physics department. It is not gernerally available to people in other departments. 

If you are installing this printer on your own, you should obtain drivers for your operating system directly from the Konica Minolta web site. It is a Bizhub C364. Search for Konical Minolta Bizhub C364 drivers on the web and download only from a Konica Minolta site. Get the drivers appropriate to your operating system. Usually there is a choice of PS or PCL. I recommend the Postscript drivers, but the PCL should work as well.

There is a secure print mode that you will see if you open the printer properties. You can specify a username (and optionally a password) for a sensitive print job. The C364 will not print the document until you walk to the printer, navigate to the secure print menu, and find the jobs under your username. 

The C364 can also staple your documents.

The C364's internal firewall is set to only allow printing from on campus.
