Printers Overview

There are many printers in LASSP. They are for the use of LASSP Faculty, Researcher and Post Doctoral Associates, Staff, and Graduate Students. They are primarily to be used for Research purposes. Occaional personal or teaching jobs are ok. Teaching printouts of significant size - handouts, exams, etc. - should be done with the resources of the appropriate Academic department - e.g. Physics, A&EP. Large amounts of non-work printing should be done using your own resources.

Staff only printers should generally only be used by the appropriate staff.

For LASSP Staff, Faculty, Researchers, Post Docs, Gradudate Students, etc.

  1. Consult the printer page here for the printer you are interested in. See:

      1. Choose the HP JetDirect or Port 9100 protocol

  4. If you need to specify the driver, make, model, and configuration of the printer, that information is on the printer page.
    1. You may need to configure your printer to have a duplexer if it has one.
    2. You may need to configure your printer to have the appropriate paper trays.
  5. I recommend you name the printer with a short name - e.g. ernst2
  6. Set a location if you wish.

The one exception is the big copier. You will need to download drivers from Konica Minolta as described on that printer's page. http://it.lassp.cornell.edu/printers/c364
